RICHMOND, Va. — CSX Transportation officials are investigating how 19 coal cars derailed in Goochland County.
The train, a total of 112 cars, was en route to Clifton Forge when the cars derailed Saturday, said Meg Sheu, spokeswoman for CSX. The derailment, described by CSX officials as minor, occurred shortly before 7 a.m. No one was injured.
The cars were cleared from the tracks yesterday at 2 a.m., and the tracks were restored and reopened around noon, Sheu said.
