BRUNSWICK, Md. — One car of a CSX freight train has derailed in the Brunswick area.

CSX spokesman Robert Sullivan says no one was hurt in the incident.

He says he doesn’t know what caused the derailment shortly before noon, or how long the eastbound track will be closed.

The Maryland Transit Administration says it expects the track to be closed at least through this evening’s rush hour – which could cause delays for MARC commuters on the Brunswick line.

MARC trains already are operating at 20 miles an hour below their normal speed due to heat restrictions.
