JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CSX Transportation is replacing its 16-year-old sign with a new look, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Workers began this week the month-long task of replacing the blue letters at the top of the downtown Water Street building. A CSXT official said the sign’s C was damaged by wind two years ago, but the replacement’s color didn’t match the rest of the sign.
The16-foot CSX letters will be replaced, but the 6-foot “Transportation” will be left off because it would save money illuminating a smaller sign while still denoting the parent company’s trade name.
