On Nov. 19, CSX Intermodal plans to open a new Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) in Buffalo, N.Y.
The terminal will feature more capacity, improved technology and additional service lanes compared with the current Buffalo ICTF, which will close Nov. 18, CSXI said.
The company plans to offer a new intermodal service between the New York City metropolitan area and Buffalo ICTF via the South Kearny, N.J., terminal. The service will enable domestic and international container shippers to reach the Buffalo and Toronto markets six days per week. The Buffalo ICTF also will continue to serve the Chicago market.
“The new terminal is a result of public-private partnership efforts by the state of New York and CSX Corp. to expand transportation services into the region,” CSXI officials said in a prepared statement.
