WASHINGTON, D.C. — CSX Transportation believes its new Northwest Ohio hub will give it a new edge over over-the-road trucking by lowering the cost of transportation for shippers moving goods into the Midwest.

For CSX, Northwest Ohio will replace congested Chicago as the point of interchange, receiving cargo from the West Coast and pushing it out to destinations in the East.

The 500-acre facility has a capacity of 2 million lifts per year.
