NEW YORK — Railroad operator CSX Corp. spent $1.1 million lobbying the federal government in the first quarter, according to a disclosure report.

That’s less than the $1.3 million it spent in the fourth quarter, but about even with the year-ago period.

The company lobbied the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy on transportation budget allocations.

CSX, which is based in Jacksonville, Fla., also lobbied on issues surrounding clean energy jobs, national energy policy, rail infrastructure and security.
