WASHINGTON, D.C. — Railroad operator CSX Corp. spent $1.3 million lobbying the federal government in the fourth quarter, according to a disclosure report.

That’s even with what it spent in the 2009 third quarter, but up from the $1.1 million spent in the fourth quarter of 2008.

The company lobbied the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy on issues including the role of high-speed rail in the stimulus bill, freight rail projects and other transportation budget allocations.

CSX also lobbied on issues surrounding clean energy jobs, national energy policy, rail security and antitrust legislation.
