WASHINGTON, D.C. — According to the Journal of Commerce, CSX Transportation will start on-dock rail service at the Virginia Port Authority’s APM Terminal in Portsmouth on Jan. 3. The new CSX service to APMT comes after the railroad signed an exclusive agreement with Maersk Line to transport its inbound discretionary cargo from the Portsmouth terminal to the Midwest. Mediterranean Shipping and CMA CGM are also switching their business at APM Terminal Portsmouth from Norfolk Southern to CSX.
