MIAMI — Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is at the scene of a CSX train that derailed Tuesday night because of a large amount of fuel it leaked in Southwest Miami-Dade.
The accident happened 147th Avenue and Southwest 180th Street. It is not blocking any intersections, but the diesel tank did rupture causing a major fuel leak.
Officials called the Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) to assess the situation and hazmat crews as well.
Crews plan on remaining on the scene through the early Wednesday morning hours.
