NASHVILLE, Tenn. — CSX railroad workers are putting nine cars back on the tracks after an early morning derailment in Nashville.
Railroad spokeswoman Meg Sacks in Jacksonville, Florida, says there are no reported injuries.
The derailed cars are what the railroad calls “auto racks” – designed to carry automobiles.
The track was expected to be reopened by 8 p.m. Monday night.
The derailment occurred shortly after midnight in the area of downtown Nashville known as the Gulch. About 16 trains per day use the line.
There was no immediate information about what caused the derailment. Six locomotives and another 83 cars remained on the tracks.
