PAMELIA, N.Y. — A freight train derailed early Monday in northern New York.
At least 11 cars of the 84-car train were reported off the tracks in a wooded area north of Watertown, according to WWNY-TV. Two cars contained hazardous chemicals, propylene and sulfuric acid, but fire officials said there were no leaks or immediate threat.
Two minor injuries were reported in the derailment shortly after 3:30 a.m. Crews were called in to right the CSX train in Pamelia, about 70 miles north of Syracuse.
