FALMOUTH, Ky. — A train derailed in a Tri-State community Wednesday evening, leaving a mess for crews to clean up.
The CSX freight train jumped the tracks at about 6 p.m. in Pendleton County, Ky., south of Falmouth, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported.
Fourteen of the train’s 66 cars derailed, and six of the 14 cars rolled over, railroad officials said.
All of the train’s cars were filled with grain headed from Cincinnati to Corbin, Ky., WLWT reported.
The train reportedly is blocking two main railroad lines. Railroad officials said heavy lifting equipment will be brought in Thursday to clean up the scene.
