MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Railroad crews spent the night uprighting four train engines that derailed in Midtown.
The CSX engines jumped the tracks on a railroad overpass at the intersection at South McLean Boulevard and York Avenue just after 5:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.
One of the engines was leaning on the railroad bridge over South McLean.
Police blocked streets in the area, fearing the engine might fall over.
A passerby called police alerting them that the train had derailed.
Concrete debris from the bridge fell to the street below when the wreck happened.
There were no injuries reported.
EMA and the Memphis fire department’s hazardous materials crew were called to stabilize leaking fuel from the engines.
The fire department said the train was not carrying any hazardous materials.
Officials do not know what caused to train to jump the tracks.
