INDEPENDENCE, March 29 — The BLET’s CSX Western Lines General Committee of Adjustment (GCA) has reached a tentative contract with the railroad that proposes to modify a 1996 seniority consolidation agreement governing approximately 1,725 locomotive engineers. The following BLET Divisions are participating in the ratification: 26, 30, 38, 41, 78, 101, 129, 140, 156, 190, 271, 275, 332, 365, 463, 489, 495, 547, 610, 698, 742, 781, 782, 829, and 830.
Ballots and instructions, along with a synopsis of the agreement, are being mailed to active members holding engineer seniority with CSX who are under the GCA’s jurisdiction. Voting will conclude on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Members who have not received a ballot by Wednesday, April 6, should request a replacement by calling the BLET National Division at (216) 241-2630, extension 222. When connected with the extension, please leave the following information:
• your name, address and phone number;
• the division to which you belong;
• your date of birth; and
• the last four digits of your Social Security number.
E-mail requests for ballots will not be accepted because personal information is required to verify eligibility before a ballot can be issued.
BLET National President Dennis R. Pierce called on all eligible members to vote. “BLET members have the duty to study and vote on contracts that govern their working conditions, and I urge you to make your voice heard by participating in this most important democratic process,” Pierce said.
