JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Ganson Evans has been named vice president of sales, marketing and e-business at CSX Transportation Inc. (CSXT), announced Mike Giftos, executive vice president and chief commercial officer. Evans will report to Giftos.

In addition to his current capital, revenue growth, planning and market strategy responsibilities, Evans will now also be responsible for the development and implementation of a wide range of e-business tools designed to make it easier, more productive and less costly for customers to do business with CSXT.

“Ganson has the unique ability to translate complex and detailed organizational and technological processes into user-friendly tools that can make it easier for customers to do business with CSXT,” said Giftos. “Our e- business activities are gathering steam, and Ganson will only add to that momentum.”

Evans joined CSX in 1998 from Conrail where he held several senior posts in the sales and marketing arena. In addition to his current responsibilities, Evans previously led the sales and marketing department at CSX Intermodal.
