CLEVELAND, November 13 — Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen’s District of Columbia State Legislative Board will host its Fourth Annual Locomotive Engineers Exposition on November 15.

The exposition is to provide a one-day forum where locomotive engineers and rail labor members interact and obtain useful information from BLET, Amtrak, the Federal Railroad Administration, state agencies, and others. The past three expositions have attracted more than 700 locomotive engineers and rail labor members.

The exposition will feature an array of exhibitors including; Willard Moody & Associates; the National Labor College; the Federal Railroad Administration; Union Plus Financial Services; the Brotherhood’s Relief & Compensation Fund (BRCF); Locomotive Engineers & Conductors Mutual Protective Association (LEMCPA); Amtrak; and the BLET Auxiliary.

In addition, a special exhibit area will be designated supporting rail labor solidarity. Representatives from other rail labor unions have been invited to participate and use the exposition to distribute information to its Amtrak members.

“The exposition provides our members with first-hand information on the many issues affecting the rail industry,” said Herbert Harris Jr., Chairman of the BLET’s District of Columbia State Legislative Board. “We also think this experience supports the BLET’s efforts on safety and passenger rail by encouraging our members to be informed and politically active.”

The District of Columbia – State Legislative Board is the only BLET state legislative board comprised entirely of passenger and commuter locomotive engineers.

The exposition will run from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Starlight Room – Gates C-D in Washington, D.C.’s Union Station.
