DELANCO, NJ — Investigators in southern New Jersey say they’re not sure why a man was lying on the tracks just before he was fatally struck by a southbound NJ Transit River Line train this weekend.
NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel says 45-year-old Scott Maurer of Delanco was struck around 9:50 p.m. Friday in that Burlington County community, not far the Beverly station. He was taken to Cooper University hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
