DAVENPORT, Iowa — Authorities say nine cars of an Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad train jumped the track in the 200 block of East River Drive directly in front of The Dock restaurant in Davenport about 4:30 p.m. yesterday.

Tom Jared is the manager of IC&E train operations in Davenport. He says no one was injured. The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.

IC&E is the former I&M Rail Link.

Crews employed by a train-derailment-response service headquartered in Denton, Texas, were expected to have the derailed cars cleared and the track repaired by 3:00 a.m. Saturday.

Railroad traffic along the Davenport riverfront was expected to resume by 7 a.m Saturday.
