MONCTON, N.B. — A rail line through northeastern New Brunswick remains closed today after two freight cars on the same train jumped the tracks at a river crossing near Bathurst.

Both cars belong to the New Brunswick East Coast Railway.

There were no injuries when the trains tumbled off the track on Sunday night. Officials are hoping to have the line re-opened Tuesday evening.

It’s the second derailment to disrupt rail service. A train derailment on Quebec on Saturday is still affecting passenger service.
