U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano and Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray earlier this week announced an updated version of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) security awareness campaign has been launched with DHS.

The “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign was funded by a $1 million grant from the department’s transit security program. It promotes collaboration between state and local agencies to educate the public to be more aware of their surroundings while using public transit and to report suspicious behavior to proper law enforcement authorities, MBTA officials said in a prepared statement.
