CLEVELAND, October 16 — The members of BLET Division 523 are soliciting donations for retired member Jerry D. Cloke, who is in need of a kidney transplant.

Brother Cloke, 63, was forced to retire from the railroad in 2010 after suffering from the effects of diabetes. Since that time, Brother Cloke’s kidneys have been failing to the point that he needs to have a kidney transplant.

Brother Cloke and his family have been selling their personal possessions in an effort to raise the $5,000 necessary to pay for the medications required immediately after the transplant. He and his wife of 24 years have one child living at home.

The members of BLET Division 523 (Chickasha, Okla.) have volunteered to set up a fund to take donations, led by 2nd Vice Local Chairman Zac Walton, Secretary-Treasurer David Boiles, and Member Kevin Hayes.

Brother Cloke has been a member of the BLET since April 1, 1991, and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Kansas and Chickasha, Okla., before his retirement. Brother Cloke was a member in good standing at the time of his retirement.

Donations to help Brother Cloke should be made payable to the “Jerry Cloke Kidney Transplant Fund” and mailed to the following:
