CLEVELAND, May 30 — The U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS), is sponsoring a one-day workshop for local union Trustees and Audit Committee Members in Colorado.
The purpose of the workshop is to familiarize these officials with the OLMS publication entitled “Conducting Audits in Small Unions: A Guide for Trustees,” also known as the Trustee Guide. The Trustee Guide features a 10-step audit designed to help Trustees carry out their responsibilities.
The workshop will provide an opportunity, through a series of exercises involving financial records from a fictitious union, to see how the skills and techniques discussed in the Guide should be applied in “real-world” situations.
The workshop will be held:
Date: Wednesday, June 7, 2006
Time: 10 a.m.–3:45 p.m.
Place: United Food and Commercial Workers LU 7
7760 W. 38th Ave.
Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
The registration deadline is June 2, 2006. This will be the only time this workshop is offered in Colorado this year. If you have any other questions, please contact Doug Griffin, District Director, at 720-264-3235.
