MILFORD, Conn. — Rail service between New Haven and Milford was running a bit slow Monday morning because of downed wires that had shut down the track for several hours.
Some 200 Metro-North railroad passengers bound for New Haven from New York were stranded at the Milford train station Sunday night after the rail line suffered a problem with downed wires.
“There was extensive wire damage, we’ve been working all night long but we did not get it repaired,” Dan Brucker, a Metro-North spokesman said Monday.
Brucker said that delays for trains heading to New York from New Haven experience 10-15 minute delays because only one of four tracks was available for use.
Brucker said repair crews were continuing to tackle the problem throughout the day.
