GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Garfield Heights police Capt. Robert Sackett says a Garfield Heights woman, 22, will be charged with child endangering and failing to obey the train crossing signals.
A police officer witnessed the 10 a.m. accident at the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks at McCracken Road.
He said the driver drove around the crossing gates, which were down, and the train struck the rear of the southbound car, where the girl was sitting.
The girl was flown via LifeFlight to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The woman was driving southbound and the train was traveling eastbound when the accident occured.
