BOSTON — No individual in America — why, perhaps even in human history — deserves to have a train station named in his honor more than Mike Dukakis. The longest-serving governor in Massachusetts history, Dukakis has been an indefatigable backer of public transportation, and also served on the Amtrak board for many years. And he walks the walk; many Bostonians can relate stories of running into Dukakis, who ran for president in 1988, on the Green Line.
