ASBURY PARK, N.J. — Gov. Chris Christie and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sound like they actually care about Penn Station rail conditions after the recent derailment that created headaches. They’re calling for an independent investigation of the incident and the state of repair at the Amtrak-owned facility. They’ve alerted officials that they won’t settle for a federal investigation. We only wish the governors would have exhibited more concern about commuter safety and access long before this.
