BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Since its run of calamity, people from Hartford, to Washington to its local customers, including Connecticut Hearst Media, have kept the heat on Metro-North to work diligently on safety improvements. It appears they’ve done so. But the pressure remains. Every individual — and now there are more of them — who entrusts his or her safety to Metro-North when they step from platform to car are entitled to know that the line is doing everything it can to keep them safe.
