Sixty BLET Secretary-Treasurers participated in half-day online refresher sessions February 17-18, hosted by the BLET Education & Training Department. The training focused on preparation of annual LM-3 and LM-4 reports required by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS). One-on-one assistance was provided on February 19.
The Education & Training Department has offered similar virtual sessions since 2023 to help Division officers meet federal reporting requirements accurately and on time.
“While in-person instruction remains our gold standard, Zoom access ensures that no one is left behind as we meet our Division officers on their own terms,” said BLET National Secretary-Treasurer David Estes, who heads the union’s Education & Training Department.
In addition to fully online sessions, the Department offers hybrid training options that allow officers to participate either in the classroom or remotely.
The training was led by Megan Mead, Director of the Compliance and Record Department and Walt Schmidt, Director of Online Services, with assistance from Kimm Bunch, Government Affairs Specialist and Rich Bartela, Auditor and Special Representative. Participants also received a comprehensive review of the BLET’s new web-based payroll application, which launched January 1, 2026.
BLET will host a hybrid workshop for Secretary-Treasurers who file LM-2 reports the week of February 22. Additional training sessions for the remainder of 2026 will be announced soon.
