WEST MANSFIELD, Ohio — Eight cars from a 20-car train derailed and lay scattered across a field Sunday. There were no injuries.

Investigators have not determined what caused the derailment about 9:05 a.m. near this town 40 miles northwest of Columbus, CSX Transportation spokesman Garrick Francis said.

One county road near the Logan and Union county line was blocked, and the railway did not have an estimate of how long cleanup will take.

The Cleveland-bound train, which started in Massachusetts, was carrying semitrailers loaded with an unspecified cargo. Francis said he did not believe the semitrailers contained any hazardous materials.
