SECAUCUS, NJ — An electrical surge caused by a foreign object delayed NJ Transit service to New York on Saturday and sent two people to the hospital, according to fire and transit officials.

Passengers were forced to evacuate an NJ Transit train in Secaucus after a “sheet or banner” got caught on a power line Saturday around 1 p.m., according to NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel.
