CLEVELAND, May 13 — After a two-month pilot project at the end of 2008, Electronic Funds Transfer (ETF) is now available to all GA-23111 and COBRA enrollees.
EFT is a payment method that allows an employee in any of the GA-23111 plans or COBRA to have their payment automatically deducted from their checking account. The advantage is that it is a fast, secure way for members to ensure that their medical insurance is paid. Other advantages include:
* Insurance is paid when you are away from home;
* You save on the cost of checks and rising postage rates;
* Checks will not be lost in the mail;
* You will always pay the correct premium;
* A record of payment will appear on your bank statement; and
* Payments will be withdrawn around the 15th of each month.
Already, there are more than 170 participants taking advantage of this new service.
