WICHITA, Kan. — The conductor hurt when two trains collided near Mulvane Monday has been upgraded to fair condition at a local hospital.
S.J. Bobbitt Sr. was on a northbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train that slammed into several railcars of a southbound train as it was diverting to a second rail line shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, authorities have said. He is being treated at Wesley Medical Center.
The engineer of the northbound train, Lisa Brown, is in fair condition at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus.
