CLEVELAND, November 5 — A special enrollment extension for the Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA) begins today and runs through December 1, 2013. This enrollment extension is only for the Health FSA benefit — enrollment for all other 2014 Railroad benefits closed on November 2.

The Health FSA Plan, administered by United Healthcare, is designed to allow you to use pretax dollars to pay for certain medical expenses that are not covered under any health plan (including a railroad health & welfare plan) or any other source.

When you enroll in the health FSA for 2014, you will be able to use a special debit card to easily pay for eligible FSA expenses. Brand new for 2014, the debit card is connected to your flexible spending account so there’s no need to write checks or submit claim forms.
