CLEVELAND, June 6 — Two BLET members are the lucky winners of prizes in the Eastern Union Meeting Association’s (EUMA) early-bird registration drawing. And even though the drawing is over, BLET members can still register for the 70th Annual EUMA (EUMA), which will be held July 6-10 at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio.
Please call (800) 729-6455 for reservations.
A special drawing was held for members who registered prior to June 1. Congratulations to Kevin Barker from BLET Division 106 (Ft. Wayne, Ind.), who won a free week stay at Sawmill Creek. Also, congratulations to Ralph Bonanno from BLET Division 601 (Little Ferry N.J.), who won a free golf package, which includes free 18 holes of golf for a foursome.
Activities at the 2008 EUMA feature a trip to Cedar Point (the roller coaster capital of the world), a Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball game, a poolside barbecue, the annual golf outing, and a charter fishing trip. Other entertainment options include: water parks, wineries, the Lake Erie Islands, maritime museums and quaint lakefront towns.
Many educational opportunities are also available, including workshops for Local Chairmen, Secretary-Treasurers, Legislative Representatives and Division Presidents. There will also be informative workshops regarding safe transportation of nuclear waste, signal diagnostics, signal tapes, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Representatives from the Federal Railroad Administration and the Railroad Retirement Board will also be on hand to answer membership questions.
“EUMA 2008 is fast approaching and getting closer every day,” said EUMA Arrangements Chairman Rodney Cutlip. “The convention is going to be one of the premier events of the year for BLET officers, members and their families.”
