CLEVELAND, February 3 — The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers extends its deepest sympathy to the family of First Vice-President & Alternate President Edward Rodzwicz upon the death of his father-in-law on Saturday, February 1. Theodore Gates, 85, was a resident of Kirwin Heights, Pa.
Mr. Gates was a highly decorated Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. A recipient of the Purple Heart with 3 clusters, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the African and Normandy Invasion Medals, Mr. Gates received many commendations for his valor during World War II.
Mr. Gates is a retired employee of Universal Cyclops in Bridgeville, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie (Pogozalis) Gates, and children, Gregory Gates, Victoria Rodzwicz, Cynthia Gerlowski, Anita DiLoreto, Gwenn Burne and the late Theordore J. Gates. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one sister. Deceased are 10 brothers and sisters.
First Vice-President Rodzwicz was elected to his current office in September 2001. He and his wife, Victoria reside in the Cleveland area and have two daughters.
Funeral services will be held at Bogan-Wolfe Funeral Home, 430 Washington Ave., Bridgeville, Pa. 15017.
