NORTH PLAINS, Ore. — A $5,000 reward is being offered in the investigation of a train derailment in Washington County. The incident happened in North Plains on April 6.
Investigators said somebody vandalized a railroad switching mechanism then disabled the alert system.
The derailment caused more than $30,000 in damage. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area is asked to call the FBI.
