SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Authorities have arrested the fifth suspect in a late-night gang assault of an Amtrak train engineer, according to a news release by the Yolo County district attorney.

Police in Sacramento captured Pauliton Nunes over the weekend. Nunes was one of five alleged members of the Broderick Boys street gang who were indicted on Aug. 11 for the attack that left the engineer impaired, authorities said.

The suspects were charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, vandalism and criminal street gang activity.

Nunes had remained at large since the April 16 incident.

He is scheduled to appear in Yolo County Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
