FORT WORTH, Texas — Matt Rose has done such a fine job of running Fort Worth-based BNSF Railway that some observers think he could be in line for a big promotion.
Rose is now being talked about as a possible successor to his 80-year-old boss, Warren Buffett, as next CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.
Berkshire, in a public filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, said it identified four unnamed candidates as possible successors to Buffett. That’s one more than a year ago, and some observers suggest the new candidate is Rose.
