CLEVELAND, May 13 — Lavon Eugene Danner, 68, of Gladstone, Mo., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 11, 2002, while on a fishing vacation. A 40-year railroad employee, Brother Danner was retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad and was a former Missouri State Legislative Board Chairman for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
He was born in Macon, Mo., on April 10, 1934, to Earl Danner and Lucille J. Maddy, and graduated from Macon High School in 1951 with a record number of sporting accomplishments. Brother Danner was a lifelong sports enthusiast, particularly enjoying Missouri college basketball, Royals baseball and Chiefs football.
He is survived by his children and their families: Steve, Stephanie, Shane, and Shavonne; his grandchildren: Shad Cunningham, Aryn Danner, Torrin Stanfor, Andrew Danner, Alexander Danner, Audrey Danner, Michael Danner, Matthew Danner, and Sky Danner Cozad; his sister Joanne Garner and her family; his Aunts Alene Halley and Doris Mandina and their families; his cousin Ron Halley; several other cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel Funeral Home (6600 North Antioch Road) in Gladstone, Mo.
