CLINTON, Tenn. — William (Bill) Monroe Overton, Jr., 73, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 with his family by his side. Bill was born August 18, 1942 to William and Lois Overton in Knoxville, TN, the oldest of 6 children. He was an engineer on Norfolk Southern Railway and General Chairman of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Bill is survived by his wife, Reda. He is also survived by his daughter, Regina and son William (Monty); his wife’s son Shawn; grandchildren, Joshua, Noah, Gabby, Grayce, Gabe and Gavin.

The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN. A graveside service will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery in Powell at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners in his name.
