NEW YORK — President Joe Biden on Nov. 14 appointed former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu to serve as Senior Advisor, coordinating implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the bi-partisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that Congress passed on Nov. 5. IIJA, which President Biden is expected to sign on Nov. 15, includes $110 billion for roads, bridges and major infrastructure projects; $39 billion for public transit modernization; $66 billion for passenger/freight rail; $17 billion for port infrastructure; and $25 billion for airports.
