YAKIMA, Wash. — Officials in Yakima are investigating what caused four railroad cars to derail and crash into a warehouse Sunday afternoon.

No injuries were reported in the incident about 4:30 p.m. next to an S-S Steiner Incorporated warehouse.

Washington State Patrol troopers say the train’s brakes had been released, but they had not located any operator of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train.

Patrol Sergeant Ethan Reavis says initial checks didn’t find any leaks of hazardous materials, though emergency workers cordoned off the area as a precaution.

Warehouse workers said the crash damaged the outside wall of the room and an air compressor.
