RENO, Nev. — Local, state and federal firefighters can get a free ride Sept. 1 aboard vintage V & T Railroad equipment at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City.
“Offering firefighters a free train ride is just one way we can show appreciation for their efforts …,” Nevada State Railroad Museum spokesman John Frink said.
The public can ride the train during the Labor Day weekend. Trains are scheduled every 40 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children younger than 6. For more information, call 687-6953.
