SHIRLEY, Mass. — A few wheels of a Guilford freight train derailed from railroad tracks in Shirley late Saturday afternoon.
The derailment was caused by a mechanical issue, said MBTA Officer John Dwyer, and did not cause any known injuries or major damage.
The train blocked the road crossings at Central Road and Catacunemaug Road for about four hours until it could be moved.
