LONDON — An empty freight train derailed outside a busy south London station Tuesday, rail officials said. There were no reports of injuries, according to the Associated Press.
Three carriages of the English, Welsh & Scottish Railway train left the track near Clapham Junction, Britain’s busiest railway station. The operator said the train, carrying only a driver, was traveling at about 25 mph (40 kph).
Network Rail, the company that oversees rail infrastructure, said the accident occurred on a dedicated freight line and no passenger trains were canceled.
