TORONTO — Twenty-six cars of a 43-car freight train derailed Thursday morning in the Caledon area northwest of Toronto.

Ontario Provincial Police said there were no injuries in the derailment, which occurred on CP Rail tracks. The derailment spilled about 30,000 water bottles and car parts. The OPP said no dangerous cargo was involved.

The cause of the derailment was not known.

GO Train service into Toronto for the morning rush hour was not expected to be affected by the accident.
