ELKHART, Ind. — A fuel spill in a northern Indiana railroad yard caused authorities to close a main road while it was cleaned up.

Elkhart police say it took firefighters and hazardous materials crews about two hours to clean the about 200 gallons of spilled fuel at the Norfolk Southern railyard on the city’s west side.

Authorities closed Old U.S. 33 until early Monday while the work was being done. No injuries were reported. Details of what caused the spill weren’t immediately released.
