CLEVELAND, February 11 — The funeral for BLET Division 416 member Ron Langlois, who was murdered on the job in Eugene, Ore., is scheduled for tomorrow in Springfield, Ore.

Brother Ron Langlois, 44, was found dead of a gunshot wound outside of his locomotive in Eugene, Ore., on February 6.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, at 1 p.m. at the Twin Rivers Baptist Church 1660 Mohawk Blvd., Springfield, Ore., 97477.

Brother Langlois, 44, was a Portland & Western locomotive engineer. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Langlois, and three children — a 19-year-old Navy sailor, a 16-year-old varsity cheerleader, and a 9-year-old third grader.

BLET Division 416 has established a memorial fund at Wells Fargo Bank for those wishing to make a financial contribution to the Langlois family. Checks should be made payable to the “Ronald L. Langlois Memorial,” and can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank facility.

Division 416 Secretary-Treasurer Julie M. Trickler has advised that donations can be mailed to her and she will then deposit the donations in the account. Her address is: P.O. Box 3413, Albany, OR 97321.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and children of our fallen Brother,” National President Paul Sorrow said. “This is an unspeakable and senseless tragedy that has cast a shadow of sadness over our Brotherhood — especially our Brothers and Sisters who work on the Portland and Western Railroad.”
