WASHINGTON, D.C. — Genesee & Wyoming Inc., a regional freight railroad operator, spent $200,000 in the first quarter lobbying the federal government.
That’s above the $190,000 Genessee & Wyoming spent in the first quarter of last year and the $80,000 it spent in the fourth quarter.
The Greenwich, Conn.-based company lobbied on tax code related to railroad track maintenance credits, according to a disclosure report filed April 20 with the House Clerk’s Office. The company lobbied Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency during the January through March period.
