LINCOLN, Neb. — Genesee & Wyoming Inc., a publicly traded short-line railroad company, announced that its new subsidiary Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern Railroad Inc. completed the acquisition of the west end of the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern rail line from Canadian Pacific for approximately $210 million plus $7.5 million for the purchase of inventory, equipment and vehicles.
